This is the team that helps new members to be assimilated into the life of the church as active members. Firstly, they introduce them to the basic Christian doctrines as disciples of Christ by equipping them to give a convincing account of their faith in God. This then helps them to be fully devoted followers of Christ.
Their purpose is to also familiarize new members with the church’s vision, mission, values, policies, procedures, structure and to ultimately expose them to opportunities available for service within the church; in line with their gifting, calling, interest and experience.
The team facilitates two programs on Sundays according to a predetermined schedule namely:
– Discipleship Course – this is the program that must be completed to be recognized and accepted as a full member of Grace Bible Church.
– Leadership 101 Course – this is the program that must be completed for one to be able to participate in the Ministry of Helps, which is basically serving within the different departments within the church.
To be admitted into the Discipleship Course, one must belong to and attend a Cell Group. The Cell Group leader will then provide you with a recommendation letter which you will then hand in at the commencement of the course.
Attending a Cell Group will help you to be quickly assimilated into church life. That is where our members meet weekly in small groups of around 12 in their areas, to share and discuss the weekly Sunday teaching; and to also help each other grow spiritually.
To be admitted into the Leadership 101 Course you must have first completed the Discipleship Course and also belong to a Cell Group.
