Grace Bible Church’s Bishops Council has resolved to support government efforts to contain the spread of COVID 19.  The body which is chaired by the Presiding Bishop and founder, Mosa Sono met last night and concluded that the health and wellbeing of congregants is of critical importance during this unpredictable time. Council concluded that because of the rising number of infections and the many lives that have been lost to date, it would be prudent to suspend all church services as part of helping to prevent the increase of infections, especially in hot spot areas.

The Presiding Bishop, Mosa Sono said “after careful consideration, we have decided to support efforts to minimise infections by cancelling physical church services. We will continue with our television broadcast of sermons and also stream them live on social media platforms. Our pastors will also be available to give support where it is needed. We are also in support of the multi sectorial advisory committee convened by our government to try and find solutions to the non-adherence of Covid 19 protocols in some of our neighbourhoods and to address the scourge of gender based violence “said Sono.

The council also pronounced itself on the issue of Gender Based violence especially the senseless killing of females by people known to them. Sono said “we condemn the gender based violence and call upon all of society to support every effort to rid our nation of this scourge. As a nation we need to act now before it is too late” concluded Sono.

Council concluded by asking GBC members to continue praying for the nation and to support those who are less fortunate through donations for food parcels and other essentials.
